LONDON: Nasir Jamshed’s former UK solicitor, Shahid Ali of Osborne Knight Solicitors, has been fined £40,000, together with £30,000 in authorized prices, by the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal after being discovered responsible of ‘dishonesty and severe skilled misconduct’ in his dealing with of shopper funds and his communications throughout Jamshed’s prison proceedings.
Shahid Ali represented Nasir Jamshed following his 2017 arrest by the UK Nationwide Crime Company (NCA) in reference to the 2016 Pakistan Tremendous League corruption investigation.

The Tribunal heard that in an NCA search of Dr Afzal’s house, roughly £5,500 in money was seized and later returned to Ali in September 2017. Ali didn’t document this cash in a shopper ledger and retained possession of it for almost two years, whereas repeatedly denying to Jamshed and Dr Samara Afzal that he had obtained it.
Describing Ali’s misconduct as very severe, the Tribunal imposed monetary sanctions totalling £70,000 and concluded that his actions concerned dishonesty, deceptive his shopper, and basic failures in dealing with shopper cash.
