Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi paid tribute to Syed Muhammad Sufi, saying his passing marked the tip of a golden period in sports activities journalism.
He praised Sufi’s position in selling sports activities, particularly cricket, and famous that his journalistic contributions can be remembered with respect.
He was counted among the many senior-most members of the Karachi Press Membership (KPC) and was considered a mentor to generations of journalists.
He started his profession as a junior sub-editor and rose to prominence within the Eighties, when famous journalist Nadir Shah Adil launched him to cricket author Munir Hussain, who supplied him a place at his cricket journal. It was right here that Sufi made his mark with distinctive writing and high-profile interviews.
Through the years, he carried out interviews with a few of Pakistan’s best cricketers, together with Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Ramiz Raja, Waqar Younis, Moin Khan, Rashid Latif, and Inzamam-ul-Haq.
