Pakistan T20 captain Salman Ali Agha has dismissed rumours circulating on social media about him unfollowing star batter and his predecessor Babar Azam on Instagram, asserting he “never followed” the latter on the photo-sharing app within the first place.
Talking at a press convention after Sunday’s match towards Bangladesh, Agha was requested about screenshots suggesting he had unfollowed a teammate — fueling hypothesis of a rift between the 2 cricketers.
“I have never followed Babar Azam on Instagram, so why should I unfollow him? People keep saying things like this,” the skipper mentioned, whereas refuting the claims.Â
As a substitute, he emphasised the long-standing friendship between the 2.
“Babar has been my school friend since 2008. At that time, there was not much social media. People just think that I unfollowed Babar. There is nothing like that. I had spoken to Babar before the match. We just laugh at all these things,” he mentioned.
