KARACHI: Pakistan clinched two golds on the ultimate day of the Asian Masters Weightlifting Championship in Doha, bringing their complete to eight golds together with one silver and two bronze medals.

Within the males’s 89kg class (Age Group 30), Furqan Anwar gained gold for Pakistan by lifting a complete of 315 kilograms.

He lifted 143kg within the snatch and 172kg within the clear and jerk.

Earlier, Umar Rasool Lone secured gold within the males’s 89kg class (Age Group 35) with a complete carry of 276kg (121kg in snatch, 155kg in clear and jerk).

Within the males’s 109kg class (Age Group 35), Usman Rathore claimed bronze with a complete carry of 282kg.

His father, Maqsood Amjad Rathore, had gained gold for Pakistan on the primary day of the championship.

Total, Pakistan completed the competitors with eight gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.

The gold medalists embody Anwar, Lone, Rashid Khan, Kashif Rehan, Muhammad Iqbal, Nadia Maqsood, Sibel Sohail, and Maqsood Amjad Rathore. Neelam Riaz gained silver, whereas Usman Amjad Rathore and Abdul Malik earned bronze medals.
