LAHORE: The Punjab Police have initiated intensive safety measures for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to be hosted in Pakistan subsequent month, Geo Tremendous reported.

Authorities have confirmed the deployment of 12,564 officers and personnel to safeguard the high-profile matches set to happen in Lahore and Rawalpindi.

In Lahore, 7,618 officers will likely be on responsibility, whereas 4,535 personnel will handle safety in Rawalpindi. Moreover, 411 officers from the Particular Department will improve safety operations.

Aerial monitoring will likely be carried out with assist from the Pakistan Military and Rangers to strengthen surveillance.

Police officers emphasised that each one collaborating gamers will obtain state visitor standing, with their security being a prime precedence.

Routes to the venues will likely be monitored by way of Protected Metropolis cameras, offering real-time surveillance to forestall any incidents.

Safety preparations are anticipated to be finalised within the coming days as authorities put together for the celebrated occasion.

The eight-team match, comprised of 15 matches, will run from February 19 to March 9, throughout three venues — Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi — in Pakistan and Dubai.

The groups are divided into two teams. Group A options Pakistan, India, New Zealand, Bangladesh, whereas Group B is comprised of Afghanistan, South Africa, England and Australia.

Hosts Pakistan will tackle New Zealand within the curtain raiser on February 19 in Karachi, whereas the blockbuster conflict between arch-rivals Pakistan and India is scheduled for February 23 in Dubai.
