KARACHI: Pakistan’s cricket staff has been fined 5% of their match charge for sustaining a gradual over-rate throughout their opening match towards New Zealand on the ICC Males’s Champions Trophy 2025 on Wednesday, the Worldwide Cricket Council introduced Thursday.
The sanction was imposed by Andy Pycroft, the ICC Match Referee, after Pakistan was discovered to be one over in need of the required goal, even after accounting for time allowances.
Beneath Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Gamers and Participant Help Personnel, which addresses minimal over-rate violations, gamers are fined 5% of their match charge for every over their staff fails to bowl inside the allotted time.
Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan admitted the offence and accepted the proposed penalty, avoiding the necessity for a proper listening to.
The cost was introduced by on-field umpires Richard Kettleborough and Sharfuddoula, third umpire Joel Wilson, and fourth umpire Alex Wharf.
