Man arrested after Ben Stokes’ dwelling raided by masked gang

LONDON: A person has been arrested after England Check captain Ben Stokes’ dwelling was burgled whereas he was on tour in Pakistan, police stated Friday.

Durham Police stated a 32-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of housebreaking. He has since been bailed.

Stokes stated his spouse and two youngsters had been at dwelling in County Durham, in northeast England, through the break-in by “masked” burglars on the night of October 17, when valuables had been taken.

Stokes was in Pakistan for a Check sequence when the incident occurred.

He stated gadgets stolen included a medal he acquired after he was recognised within the 2020 New Yr Honours checklist, for serving to England win the World Cup the 12 months earlier than.

Describing the break-in on his private X account, Stokes posted photographs of the gadgets taken from his dwelling together with a Christian Dior purse, a gold ring with England cricket insignia and bracelets.

“By far the worst thing about this crime is that it was carried out whilst my wife and two young children were in the house,” the 33-year-old wrote.

“Thankfully, none of my family came to any physical harm. Understandably, however, the experience has had an impact on their emotional and mental state,” the cricketer added. 

“All we can think about is how much worse this situation could have been,” Stokes stated.
